Although flowers are usually considered beautiful for their color or unique forms, I selected this piece for the theme of Transforming the Ordinary, due to the change in color, texture and movement that was created with the morning sun shining through the petals. Closing in on a small area and enlarging it beyond the norm invites others to look at the nature around them beyond a passing glance and catch what is unique and beautiful in each creation.
