This drawing again makes use of the insect world in reference to the 'Great Trek' as an icon of the 'movement' South Africa has mediated over the years. The ANT's ability to carry an impossible load and organise themselves in a vey efficient way is extraordinary. The metaphor is extended to all South Africans who have lived through great change, dealt with unbelievable instability and transcended difficulty with relative ease. Internal wars continue to rage, yet the people of the country maintain a genuine humanitarian 'way'. This piece celebrates the beauty and strength of our people and country throughout its years of transmigrations, redefinitions, change of reins and down right 'blunders'.
