What does Moon mean to you?

When to find moon in the night sky, you might feel so happy and your heart pounds with joy as to find a treasure in a box. Moon makes our heart so warm and relaxing. Moon is always watching us whether brightly and visibly, or quietly from behind the clouds, no matter where we are. Moon is like a mother who is always caring her children. I believe we human and all creatures are protected by Moon. In this painting, I express my nostalgia with an autumn harvests (Japanese large chrysanthemums, Japanese silver grasses), nature (Moon, Mt. Iwaki in my hometown Aomori prefecture) and creatures (Dragon flies, a cat), which are shined by Moon. A cat looks up Moon, nostalgically thinking of her hometown in autumn.

Submit your artwork related to your feeling, story or your thoughts over the moon.  Describe what you mean by that to the viewers. I expect your work touches to the viewers who feel a heartwarming moment by your artwork.

Curators Note:

Congratulations on all artists who joined in this exhibition, “Moon”.  Each artwork struck my heart in each way - mysterious, story-telling, the meanings behind, expressional performance, visual beauty, exciting movement, imaginary curiosity, technically well-made, eye catching, nostalgic feeling, and interesting concept… All of them describes Moon which is wonderfully appreciated. I am so happy and confident to present this exhibition where viewers can fall in an imaginary trip to each scene you can feel a heartwarming special moment over the Moon.  Where would you like to go next?  See you in the next theme!
